I write this for your all
Hangcon Europe, second of its kind, is going to take place in Denmark, Ledreborg Castle, 25.th to 27.th March 2025
2024 was the first Hangcon in Europe, Christian and I went to Florida in January 2024, met up with the Hangcon team US team, Aj and Paul, we agreed that our common values fit right in and we agreed to try to make it in Europe too.
It was, modestly, a huge success, AJ and Paul attending, hosting the Raffle and doing speeches on stage.
Shug came, made a huge impression, to both Hammockers and everyone else visiting the Hangcon and Danish Outdoor Festival.
We had 26.000 visitors over the weekend and 300 hanging over the nights.
We had the pleasure of Mr. Mocks, Majestic, Lesovik, Haven, Amok, Dutchware-store Holland, Tentsile in presence, a lot of other Brands supporting for exhibition or Raffle, DD, ENO, Ticket to the Moon, One Wind and more.
All this, is outside, all the great Outdoor Brands who attends The Danish Outdoor Festival, Osprey, Fjällräven, Dometic, Tentipi, Smartwool and 150 more

The area is a protectet nature 2000 area, everything is considered for, the Eagles nesting near by and the trees and the forest, Parking is in the city grounds, nearby, but not in the nature. The whole campground and festival area is left spotless, we are the outdoors, not a music festival. Come experience how it can be done - the right way, remember to bring you own cup, bowl and plate, we have no one time use stuff, no plastic and no noice

Auch auf die Gefahr hin, mich hier in die Nesseln zu setzen: Ich persönlich finde ein Festival in dieser Größe unvorstellbar: stellt euch doch mal vor, wie ein Waldstück aussieht, wenn 13.000 Leute darin " rumgetrampelt" sind. Für die ansässige Tierwelt eine Katastrophe und ich glaube auch nicht, dass da nur Leute dabei sind, die ihre Zigarettenkippen und Bierdosen wieder mitnehmen. Vom Geräuschpegel und der Anfahrt mit tausenden Autos mal abgesehen. (Es kommen sicher auch welche mit Rad oder Bahn, aber die Menge machts doch.)
Das Schöne am Hängen ist doch, die Ruhe in der Natur zu genießen und genau das ist bei so einer Großveranstaltung doch unmöglich.
Sowas wäre eher eine Veranstaltung, die auf einem großen Messegelände gut untergebracht wäre, wo man die aufgehängten Matten probieren und fachsimpeln kann ohne die Natur dermaßen zu überfordern.
Aber vielleicht sehe ich das auch zu pessimistisch....

Hi Sundance, Just thought it be better to try explain it in the first place, Europe is our promise, move it around, actually to make it European, we just start off in Denmark because Christian and I already organize a, quite big, Outdoor Festival there - and you are right, this is not a job, it´s doesen´t pay a single beer for me, just love doing it
By the way, The Danish Outdoor Festival is local, but then again, International - we host big names from all over the world, David Cantebury, Luciano Chellini, Johan Skullman among a few -
I didn't mean that seriously. I didn't realize, for example, that there are already registered trademark rights for Hangcon.
I only stumbled across it because the addition "Europe" seems very big to me, for a local festival in Denmark. Especially as very few people here in our hammock forum, apparently knew that the Danish Outdoor Festival exists and that part of the festival has now been supplemented by a "Hangcon".
But there are actually quite a few Danes here in Schleswig-Holstein and even a Danish party. In this respect, one or two things take place across national borders here anyway.
We are four passionate hammock sleepers near Kiel who meet up several times a year for an overnighter. That's why I took the liberty of calling our get-together "Hangcon Northern Europe".
I am also used to organizing events in my job sometimes. However, I'm not thinking about bringing a hammock festival to Schleswig-Holstein. If at all, it would be in the middle of Germany. But I do not have enough spare time to do this. I congratulate you and yourselves on getting an event of this size off the ground. Because presumably you don't do this full-time?

Dänemark ist ja von Schleswig-Holstein aus nicht so weit weg. Bis zum Festivalort ist es dann aber doch nicht um die Ecke.
Dieses Jahr klappt es defintiv nicht, aber für nächstes Jahr versuche ich es mal im Blick zu behalten. Vielleicht können wir eine deutsche Delegation organisieren?
Nur so am Rande: Schon spannend, dass hier die "Hangcon Europe" ausgerufen wird, es zumindest hier kaum jemand kennt. Aber was nicht ist, kann ja noch werden. Aber wenn ich das nächste mal mit wuppitom & Co. unterwegs bin, nennen wir es einfach "Hangcon Northern Germany"
Hi Sundance, We have made a deal with Hangcon to host it in Europe, not only in Denmark. Hangcon owns the right to the brand and name. Plan is to host 2 a year in Europe - Northern Germany is surely possible. Currently we are looking to Sweden and Italy next as we most likely have locations and partners there - I am absolutely interrested in Germany, not only Northern Germany, but we, of course needs help and contacts. It takes permissions and knowledge of local rules, if you are our guy, you know how to get in touch

What's the actual dates? 27.-28.? Or already from Friday 26.?
Could you share the location as well? Copenhagen is well connected by train from Germany - though is the location as well or is a bar needed to teach the venue?

Ja, hab ich gesehen und hätte auch Interesse daran gehabt, wenn die Organisatoren das nicht erst 5 Wochen vorher angekündigt hätten. Wenn wir das gewusst hätten, hätten wir das Hängemattentreffen in Kastl vermutlich nicht auf das gleiche Wochenende gelegt. Das Outdoor Festival war mir bisher noch kein Begriff. Schade auch.

I am one of the organizers of Danish Outdoor Festival and the first Hangcon outside the USA.
We, Christian and I, went from Denmark to Hangcon, Florida, in January, had a blast indeed - and we made an agreement with AJ and Paul to organize the first International Hangcon. We are so lucky the boys will be over to support us and make it a great kick-off.
We will host it in Denmark, near Copenhagen, last weekend in April, Camp open most of the week.
Already we have a bunch of hammock producers joining, UGQ, Mr. Mocks, Majestic, Amok, Lesovik, Eno, Hammock Gear, Dutch Hammock Store- still in talks with more, hopefully with some great outcomes.
